E3 2017: 8 Ups & 7 Downs From Microsoft's Conference
3. Sea Of Thieves Has Incredible Water...But Not Much Else
Rare's Sea of Thieves was first announced at E3 two years ago, and was again shown off this year, with a thoroughly underwhelming gameplay demo that touted some absolutely jaw-dropping water-based visuals...and not a whole lot else.
The character designs looked incredibly bland, the gameplay seemed uninteresting, and Microsoft devoted a whole 10 minutes of their presentation to showing it off.
This seems like one of those games where the fun factor is entirely dependent on the people you're playing with rather than the depth or ingenuity of the gameplay itself. And to add to the disappointment, it's still not coming out until "early 2018".
