E3 2018: 8 Insane Predictions Most Likely To Come True
1. Xbox VR
Has the VR gravy train already long-since left the virtual station? Oculus, Vive and PSVR have made it to market since the infantile technology took off as an actual consumer product, but Microsoft, which even helped to spur interest in virtual and augmented reality tech with the Kinect, still has yet to provide its own for Xbox owners and at this point, it may already be too late.
Consumers with an interest in alternative ways to game will already have satisfied their curiosity with existing headsets, meaning any product the software giant releases now is unlikely to drive sales of its console, leaving its success largely in the hands of the Xbox's existing install base.
With that said, Microsoft has been tinkering with the technology by way of HoloLens, so it's possible that it may have an alternative rather than a competing device to share with the world next month.
Either way, the market is too big for Microsoft to ignore, so expect at least some of its press event to be earmarked for discussion about all things fictional reality.
