E3 2019: 10 Biggest Surprises At Nintendo's Showcase
4. Panzer Dragoon
Wow, did anyone see this coming?
Fans have been asking for it for so long, but finally a remake of the original Panzer Dragoon is being updated for a modern audience, and it's out later this year.
This is great for several reasons.
Obviously the series has managed to build a cult fan base based on their original, quality gameplay, and it's been a long time since any console received a high-end, narrative driven on-rails shooter with a decent budget.
It also means the long dormant franchise has an opportunity to entice a whole new generation of fans, which could mean more remakes and sequels. Finally, it's a perfect fit for the Switch, with a challenging and addictive arcade style.
This particular edition will be especially good if Sega incorporate those lovely gyroscopic controls.
Who knows, maybe there'll be online multiplayer and co-op? Arena-based dragon dogfights sound pretty damn good.
