Earth Defense Force Coming To PS Vita In Japan
The bug killing cult hit is getting a brand new installment for PS Vita
Earth Defense Force: Portable 3 will be launching for Vita in Japan on the 27th of September. While the publisher of the series, D3, currently has no plans on bringing the title to Europe or America, it seems that a port might make its way across the seas at some point in the future. This is purely speculation, but with previous installments already overseas it would seem that it wouldn't be out of the question. The Vita version of the game will support four players via ad-hoc and online multiplayer, which is a welcomed addition from the Xbox 360 exclusive. In addition to the improved multiplayer, Earth Defense Force includes Vita-specific features. These weren't specifically detailed, but here's to hoping you can squish bugs with the screen in a giant mech. Is that too much? A trailer has been released that reveals a Japanese pricing of ¥6090, or approximately £49. The video also highlights a limited amount of gameplay, and provides more of the great insect squashing action that we've seen on home consoles. Earth Defense Force seems that it would be a perfect fit for on-the-go gaming. What better way to kill a little bit of time by defending Earth from wave after wave of hideously overgrown insect scum? If one thing is certain from the trailer, it's that the same over-the-top action seems to be making a powerful return with Earth Defense Force: Portable 3.
