The God Eater franchise is big deal in Japan. It plays like Monster Hunter meets dark sci-fi anime, as you venture out into a grim apocalyptic world to take down a bevy of intimidating monsters.
The franchise has only had a strong following on the PS portable market so far, but Namco has built this new entry with consoles in mind, with a big push in the West - likely taking advantage of last year's Monster Hunter World.
The appeal of customising your wide variety of weaponry and armour, then venturing forth to take down frightening beasties is crazy appealing - and something this title looks to deliver in spades.
