Fallout: Ranking Every Vault From Least To Most Horrifying
6. Vault 112 - The Murderous Virtual Reality Simulator
The Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3 is a horrible place, so you should be thankful that Vault-Tec took you away from all that and inserted you unwillingly into a virtual reality to escape the horrors of the real world.
That's exactly what happens in Vault 112. The original residents, of which there could be up to 85, are placed inside virtual reality pods by the overseer, Dr Braun.
Of course, as this is Fallout, the virtual reality isn't the utopia it's meant to be. Braun goes completely insane and starts to subject his dwellers to significant mental torture, deliberately inventing scenarios in the virtual world where he can kill them mentally, wipe their memory, resurrect them, and do it all again and again.
By the time the Lone Wanderer arrives at the vault, the experiments have been going on for several decades. You can then strap yourself in for one of the series' most unique and memorable quests, where you'll find Tranquility Lane, a picturesque American suburb where things get progressively more screwed up as you go on.
