2. Gianluigi Buffon
For people my age their have been many constants in footballing terms; Wenger's rein at Arsenal, England's failure at major tournaments and the one the only, Gianluigi Buffon between the sticks for Italy. However like all good things it looks like this might be the beginning of the end for the 35 year old who has been capped 133 times for the international team. Last season the Italian started to falter in the Juventus Champions League campaign and looked shaky in the Confederations Cup for Italy, and this wasn't what we were used to for this excellent servant to football. In goalkeeping terms though he still has a few years left in him but I feel to think that we have seen the best of Buffon, and with the likes of Neuer and Lloris making strides to replace him at the top of the goalkeeping tree where he and Iker Casillas have sat for nigh-on a decade.
