FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: 10 Legends That Were Shamelessly Overlooked

2. Diego Maradona

Diego Maradona1 When you think "Diego Maradona" you automatically think "hand of God", the controversial hand ball incident against England in 1986, in the quarter-finals of the 1986 FIFA World Cup. And that sullies the Argentine legend's reputation somewhat, particularly when you consider he was one of the greatest players of all time. In that same game against England, for example, Maradona scored a goal that was voted The Goal of the Century by FIFA.com voters in 2002, but the only goal that anyone really remembers from that England game is the unpenalised hand ball incident. Which is perhaps unkind, seeing as though Maradona scored 311 goals in a career that took in 12 major trophy wins, such as the World Cup and Serie A. It would have been intriguing to have had Maradona featured in Ultimate Team, but his controversial past, having been suspended for 15 months in 1991 after failing a drug test, for cocaine, was always going to make his inclusion unlikely.
