FIFA 14 Ultimate Team: 5 Players Who Deserve A January Ratings Boost

5. Diego Costa - Atletico Madrid

Atlético Madrid have showcased some of the world's finest attacking talent in recent years, with Diego Forlán, Sergio Agüero and Radamel Falcao all leading the line with distinction. Diego Costa continues this trend, having established himself as one of the most deadly strikers in Europe. He seems to have rid his game of the disciplinary problems that dogged his earlier career in Spanish football, whilst losing none of his will to win. Costa has scored 19 goals in 17 league appearances to propel his team to the top of La Liga and leads the chase for the Pichichi ahead of both Cristiano Ronaldo and the injury blighted Lionel Messi. He has also been a hit in his debut Champions League season with 4 goals in 3 games, and is one of the main reasons that Atlétic are seen by many as dark horses to win the competition. This form means that an increase on his relatively average 83 rating is essential, but intriguingly a far rarer change may be made to his player card, his nationality. One would expect EA to change Costa from a Brazilian to a Spaniard given the player's decision to represent La Roja instead of the country of his birth. Undoubtedly if such a card was created it would be extremely popular because it would enhance not just the player's statistics, but also his potential to be used in a Spanish nationality team whilst still retaining an all important high chemistry rating.
