FIFA 14 Rating: 84 Dantes 2013/14 season was a mixed one, ranging between unparalleled highs and humiliating lows. On the one hand he teamed up with the aforementioned Jerome Boateng to maintain Bayern Munichs reputation for having one of the tightest defences in Europe, conceding just 23 goals all season. However, Dantes one game played for Brazil in the World Cup was that embarrassing 7-1 routing at the hands of Germany; a defeat which the centre back is certainly accountable for, where he looked indecisive and sluggish. It must be remembered however that Dante was very much fed to the lions in this fixture he hadnt received any game time throughout the whole tournament and then was tasked with starting in a semi-final tie against the best team in the competition. Overall Dante arguably did enough to retain his high 84 rating as the leaks suggest, though we had half expected that crushing defeat to lead to him being marginally downgraded. Dantes career has shown that he is very much a player driven by momentum and in the past few seasons we have seen his confidence grow. This confidence has resulted in hugely improved performances for Bayern, where the imposing centre back has used his ability to read the game to predict the runs of would-be attackers.
