FIFA 14 offers 33 licensed leagues and 47 international squads, but we crave more. Coming into this summer's World Cup, it was teams such as Ivory Coast and Ghana who flew the flag of African football, but one team that slipped way under the radar is Algeria, who certainly surprised one or two teams throughout the tournament. Currently ranked 24th in the world, and the number one African nation, Algeria have forced their way to the front of the queue for selection on the game. A last minute defeat against Belgium and an extra-time collapse vs the eventual champions Germany, were the only black marks on an otherwise successful outing. Players such as Valencia's Sofiane Feghouli, the scorer of Algeria's first World Cup goal in 28 years, and Tottenham's rising star Nabil Bentaleb have unquestionably increased the stock of the African nation since the release of FIFA 14 and it would be fully deserved if their progress landed them a spot in the next edition later this year.
