China are a highly decorated women's football team, winning seven out of seven Asian Cup trophies between 1987 and 1999. They finished as runners up in the 1996 Olympic games, and also fell at the final hurdle in the 1999 Women's World Cup. Their glory years of the 90s are behind them, and while they ranked as highly as 3rd in 2003, they've slid down the charts. Ma Jun is their versatile star, plying her trade as a centre forward, midfielder and even centre back during a recent tournament. She has 50 caps for her country, bagging 15 goals in the process.
