FIFA 17: 10 Best Free Agents You Need To Sign

9. Gaston Guruceaga (73)

FIFA 17’s free agent pool is sadly lacking in quality goalkeeping options. There are a handful of ‘keepers rated at 75, but most of them are in their 30s and showing clear signs of decline. Thus, none are a genuine mid/long-term option for any side with significant aspirations, and managers must dig a little deeper in this department.

Gaston Guruceaga is rated a little lower at 73 overall, but he makes up for this in potential. Aged just 21, Guruceaga has the potential to reach 81 overall. This doesn’t put him in-line with the absolute best ‘keepers in the game, but Guruceaga will eventually become better than most Premier League goalies, even if you’ll likely want to use him in a bench role to begin with.

He might have a low overall rating, but Guruceaga is no slouch in the stats department. His key goalkeeping numbers all range between 72 and 81, and while he’s not the tallest at 6’2”, he’s more than capable of claiming his fair share of crosses. Gaston’s one downside, however, is his agility of 68, but several years’ worth of quality training should see this hit the high 70s. Guruceaga might not be good enough to start for you immediately, but he soon will be.
