As soon as Cristiano Ronaldo was revealed as the cover star for FIFA 18, the Real Madrid star's critics started rolling their eyes. If CR7 is EA's poster boy, then that surely means he'll be the best player in the game, superior even to rivals like Lionel Messi or Neymar. Not so fast, because there's another contender.

Ronaldo's overall rating will be somewhere between 94-95, which certainly makes him one of the better players this year. That's not exactly groundbreaking, but the idea Pelé could swoop in and steal Cristiano's crown is. dreamteamfc.com's previously-referenced report suggested Pelé will have an overall rating of 98, which is massive.

The new Icons (replacing Legends) in FUT will be fleshed out by 3 different versions of the same player. For example, Pelé from 1958, 1962 and 1970 is included, and the latter is an absolute beast. Check the stats in the pic above for proof that Pelé may just leave CR7 in his dust.
