FIFA 21: 10 Players Who Will Be Totally Overrated
1. Kyle Walker
Whilst researching whether the ‘Trent Alexander-Arnold can’t defend’ argument actually had some truth in it, I discovered a different full back with woefully underperforming numbers.
Enter, Kyle Walker.
Walker deserves the praise he has been getting over the last few years. He has regularly been named one of the best full backs in the league, finally earning his first Premier League title with Manchester City in 2017/18.
On FIFA he has been named in the Team of the Season a very impressive three times since 2012. This season, however, he appears an absolute shadow of his former self.
Walker has offered up the lowest attempted tackles and tackles won, the second-lowest duels won and interceptions fourth-lowest clearances of any of the 24 full backs to have made at least 20 appearances in the Premier League this season.
His 2 assists mean that there are 9 full backs with more assists, as well.
We don't know where it is going wrong for the England international. At 29 he should be in the prime of his career and his counterpart in Joao Cancelo has offered little threat to his starting berth.
His current SoFIFA rating of 83 – making him the joint fourth-highest rated full back in the league – is wholly undeserved.
