Final Fantasy VII Remake: Every Easter Egg & Reference You Probably Missed

4. Shinra From Final Fantasy X-2

Surely the smartest and most interesting Easter egg uncovered in FFVII Remake so far occurs later in the game when you reach Shinra Headquarters.

At one point, you'll find a painting on the wall of various Shinra employees, and among them is an incredibly distinctive face indeed.

In the middle of the picture is what appears to be a grown-up version of Shinra, the young Al Bhed boy and child genius from Final Fantasy X-2.

Fans have long speculated on the name Shinra appearing in the two games, even though there's little else to suggest that FFVII and FFX-2 actually do exist within a proximate continuity.

And so, while this Easter egg will once again get fans salivating at the prospect of an imminent concrete confirmation, it's likely more a tongue-in-cheek acknowledgement of the fandom's obsession rather than a genuine attempt to flesh it out.
