Final Fantasy X HD: 5 Moments It'll Be Great To Relive In High Definition

It's hard to believe that it's already been twelve years since Final Fantasy X was released in Europe (thirteen in Japan and North America). The first game in the series to be made for the Playstation 2, its graphics were considered revolutionary at the time in comparison to past titles and it was eagerly anticipated as a result - I can personally remember my eleven year old self returning from a family holiday to find a copy waiting on the kitchen table, before proceeding to play it for most of the summer and experiencing a countless array of memorable moments, both tragic and triumphant (many of which featured in my previous opus on the Final Fantasy series' best bits). The game focuses on Tidus, a man from the city of Zanarkand who is mysteriously transported 1000 years into the future by a monstrous being known as Sin. Here he encounters a summoner named Yuna, who is set to undergo a journey in an attempt to defeat Sin, which continues to wreak havoc on the world. Tagging along in the hope that he may be able to find a way home, he begins to develop romantic feelings for his companion, as they and their other accomplices discover that the nature of Sin and the world's religious authority are not all that they seem. Next month, the game (and its sequel, Final Fantasy X-2), will be re-released in high definition to gamers in Europe, Australia and North America, allowing players to immerse themselves in the lush world of Spira once more. This remake is not a result of mere upscaling, rather a multi-year development that has resulted in every scene and audio track being remastered, and it shows in the numerous screenshots and videos that have been released by Square themselves, as well as Japanese gamers, who received the game as an early Christmas present at the end of last year. So without further ado, let us run through five of the game's memorable moments that should be exhilarating to experience once again in high definition, albeit be aware that there are heavy spoilers if you've not played the game before.
