The Challenge: Take over from Arsene Wenger, win leagues and keep your job.

Perhaps it's because of some inherent, worrying tendency to celebrate too long, but managing Arsenal for more than a single season in Football Manager 2017 is a difficult thing. That Arsene Wenger is a bloody deity.

Winning the Premier League (or challenging at the very top) in the first season isn't a difficult prospect (it shouldn't be with the team Wenger has put together), bit longevity is considerably harder. More often than not, the Beta lead to second season firings for not winning back-to-back trophies and getting the opportunity to pull a Wenger and get in for the long term is particularly taxing.

And it's not just a matter of keeping your team together either, as it will be patently obvious that longevity requires adaptation, while you also seek the balance of blooding new players. Good luck with that.
