At 35 years old, you won't find too many defenders longer in the tooth than Shakhtar legend Darijo Srna, a combative Croat who has made more than 500 appearances for the club, winning 10 league titles and a UEFA Cup during his illustrious career.
He's now in the final year of his contract and is available for around £2 million, which will buy you at least a season of solid reliability. Stats including 20 for adaptability and 20 for professionalism make Srna worth a punt, but his 20 for loyalty means he's difficult to prise away from the Ukranian champions.
