Football Manager 2020: 10 Expected Wonderkids You Must Sign

9. Devyne Rensch - Ajax

When putting together an article exploring exciting youth prospects and potential wonderkids on Football Manager 2020, it would be remiss of us to not feature at least one player from the famed academy of Ajax.

Due to a stunning 2018/2019 season, some of Ajax’s brightest talents have already been picked up by some of Europe’s glamour clubs – Frenkie de Jong off to Barcelona, Matthijs de Ligt seemingly set for PSG, Juventus or Manchester United – but the Ajax way of dealing with such losses is simply to develop more young talent. And while the impressive de Ligt is leaving the Johan Cruyff Arena, one player who may ultimately end up filling that void is 16-year-old Devyne Rensch.

Having been in the Ajax system since 2016, Rensch is viewed as the latest in a long line of defensive prospects – following in the footsteps of del Ligt, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Thomas Vermaelen, just to name a few – and the state of finances in Dutch football means he could be a realistic transfer target on FM2020 should you be prepared to hand over the right amount of money.
