One of many players on this list who are the following in the footsteps of their fathers in the professional game, Middlesbrough defender Nathan Wood's father Dean Gordon turned out for the likes of Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough during his professional career before hanging up his boots in 2009.
Nathan has proven to be something of a starlet in his dad's former club's academy and has already begun to break into the first-team ranks at Middlesbrough, so prying the pacy centre back away from the Riverside Stadium may not prove to be an easy task. However, at just 17 and with the potential to go on to be a Premier League-standard player, Wood would be a great signing for any manager trying to shore up their backline.
