Club: RB Leipzig

Nationality: Croatian

Price: £80 million

For those of you who like to indulge in FIFA's Career Mode, you're likely well aware of Joško Gvardiol.

In FIFA terms, Gvardiol is the perfect central defender. Strong and with great defensive awareness, it's the RB Leipzing man's electric pace that puts him above so many of his peers as his stats vastly improve on the past couple of iterations of the FIFA series.

Likewise, it's those same basics that make the 19-year-old a genuine great on Football Manager 2022.

A quick glance at Gvardiol's starting figures immediately has pace (17), determination (17), bravery (17), strength (16), natural fitness (16), aggression (16), tackling (15) and work rate (15) all jump out as being excellent. Considering the fella is just 19, the sky is the limit for how high these attributes can reach.

Of course, while Joško Gvardiol turns out to be one of the very best players in the game, that ability certainly comes with a price. To be precise, that ability comes with a price of around £80 million. As such, those looking to sign the Croatian at the start of FM22 will have to be at a club with major financial resources.
