Sticking with Spain, there’s another fallen giant that has become a popular save with players in recent iterations of Football Manager in 1999/2000 La Liga Champions, Deportivo La Coruna.

During the early-2000s, Deportivo were one of the most consistent clubs in La Liga, finishing in the top three for five consecutive seasons from 2000 to 2004. However, the club affectionately known as The Blue and Whites are now playing in the lower leagues of Spain in the newly formed Primera Division RFEF, formally the Segunda Division B .

With some decent young talent and good youth and training facilities, this save will provide a nice level of challenge for those looking for a project to take on. Therefore, this is a great club to choose for a long-term save as it could take many seasons to get them back into Europe, and then many more to return the club to its former league-winning glory.
