Gears Of War HD Ultimate Edition Confirmed For Xbox One

New Gears... but not how you might want it.

What gives with all these remastered titles at the minute? Rumoured a while back when Polygon first broke that they'd seen a reworked version of the original game up and running at new developers Black Tusk Studios HQ, thanks to the guys over at GameRant and their coverage of a Brazilian ratings board considering the newest instalment for classification, now it's been revealed that 'Gears of War: Ultimate Edition' is the final title. Luckily, Gears of War 4 is confirmed as arriving at some point in the near future - but for all those people hoping for an unveiling at E3, it seems like this is what the rumours were talking about instead. Apparently it's only the first instalment of the trilogy that's getting the upgraded treatment too, most likely as a way for the studio to test out some new multiplayer code or a spruced up graphics engine along the way. With any luck we'll get a few new reasons to buy it other than just a better lick of paint - as if Microsoft are going to set about reminding everyone of all the strides they made with the 360, in fairness they could do a lot worse. Let's just hope part four makes an appearance. What do you think of a Gears of War remake potentially instead of a new instalment? Let us know in the comments!
