5. Cross-Platform Online Multiplayer

It's inevitable.

Right now, the only thing getting in the way of cross-platform play for various games is Sony. The idea rose to prominence yet again with Psyonix attempting to get Rocket League's servers to cater to PS4, Xbox One and PC... only for Sony to say no.

Since then, there have a been a ton of titles that support cross-platform multiplayer, though to this day Sony and Microsoft are yet to have a single title cross over. That hasn't stopped a menagerie of titles get support from Nintendo and Microsoft, but if there was any one property big enough to justify playlists where everybody can get involved, it's GTA.

Granted, the business reality of cross-platform play means there's no immediate benefit other than "playing nice", but have platform holders set challenges and goals designed around "Supporting Team PlayStation!" or "Backing Team Xbox", and there'd be a worthwhile reason to put time into your respective side.
