6. Deathmatches
Of course, what would all of these exuberant extra features be worth if the game didn't bring back the more conventional, classic deathmatch modes from the previous GTA game? From what we've seen so far, players will be able to customise their own deathmatch set-ups in far greater terms than before - though I'll expand on that later - while a slicker control scheme should make for some of the most versatile combat available on consoles. It may not be the most original mode out there, but there's a classic beauty in the prototypical deathmatch, and from the clips shown in trailers, it looks brilliantly chaotic. Footage has mostly shown off a war of attrition, in which the game ends when an entire team has been obliterated, but hopefully there will be faster-paced, respawn-based deathmatches too (I'm sure there will be).
