10. Soft Lock

Soft Lock is R*s current preferred method of offering a rudimentary free aim to any player that has chosen to play one of their shooters in Auto Aim mode (invaluable for lobbing grenades to be sure). Its featured in a few R* games to date, most notably Max Payne 3 and of course GTA IV. Basically, in Auto Aim mode, you can either fully lock the nearest target with a full press of the left trigger (or L2 for PS3 heads of course) while half pressing the trigger enables you to move the crosshair anywhere on screen. I cant count the amount of times Ive lined up a perfect grenade throw in GTA IV, only to press that little bit too hard at the last second and locked onto the nearest enemy by mistake, sending said grenade skidding to a halt at a spot where it invariably causes much less hassle than Id intended. Perhaps instead of this, R* should include some way to toggle between Hard Lock and Soft Lock while actually in game. If you ask me, thisd allow for more textured and ultimately much less frustrating fire fights.
