GTA V: 25 Radio Stations That Should Be Included
17. Punk Rock
Example name: Radio Nation 93.1
Liberty City Hardcore Rock is about as close as the series has got to a committed punk station and I honestly abhorred it. Luckily I'm certain there will be no repeat of the New York hardcore punk phenomenon for Los Santos. In its place would be the eclectic regional movement of punk's 'second wave' from LA & San Francisco Bay. The one deterrent for punk is that there are countless other viable rock stations that it may be perceived less important and left on the shelf.
18. Modern Pop
Example name: Radio 3On the face of it, you may consider this a no-brainer. However, just what proportion of the GTA fanbase would actually desire it? Rockstar will be very wary and I don't think they are callous enough to promote the likes of Justin Bieber just for the sake of it 'fitting' with the tone. One dilemma using current pop is that it rapidly feels outdated so it's a real challenge finding songs you'd still be humming in twelve months.

Jazz & Swing
Example name: Swingers 96.9
GTA IV marked the debut of jazz to the series; and even had a jazz fusion station - but neither made a return in EFLC. Is this a sign of Rockstar culling the genre or are they saving other golden oldie instrumentals for V? Or maybe they didn't feel it was the right time to expand upon jazz considering The Lost and the Damned had a biker premise and The Ballad of Gay Tony grounded in disco. I would be delighted if it could be branched to embrace swing and big band, as bandleaders Glenn Miller and Benny Goodman created some sensational arrangements suitable for any GTA. Playlist suggestions: Max Roach Quintet - Blues Waltz Django Reinhardt - Swing 42 Benny Goodman & His Orchestra - Sing, Sing, Sing Dexter Gordon - 'Round Midnight Charlie Barnet & His Orchestra - Skyliner Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take Five Wes Montgomery - Bumpin' On Sunset Oscar Peterson Trio - C-Jam Blues Lionel Hampton & His Orchestra - Hamp's Boogie Woogie Oliver Nelson Septet - Stolen Moments Glenn Miller Band - In The Mood Jimmy Smith Quartet - The Cat Chances of inclusion: 30%
