Hideo Kojima Joins PlayStation To Create All-New Exclusive Franchise
Kojima Productions is back in business, and the future looks brighter than ever.
It's been one hell of a year for Hideo Kojima and his team. Not only did they have to put up with some truly awful working conditions as publisher Konami crunched deadlines and punished employees who were unable to meet them, but following the release of Metal Gear Solid V and the culmination of 28 years of hard work, Kojima was forbade to accept any awards for his own creation. However, there was always a smidgen of light at the end of the tunnel, as we knew Hideo's contract was expiring in December and there's been quite the speculation on what would happen next. Would he retire after working doggedly on Metal Gear so much? Would P.T./Silent Hills get Kickstarted into being with Guillermo del Toro's help, or would he somehow do an about-face, sort a new deal out with Konami and continue his Metal Gear saga? https://youtu.be/annuTcmB1rw Turns out the answer was none of the above, as Sony have announced an exclusive partnership with Kojima to develop a new franchise that'll only be found on PS4 hardware (for now, anyway). The above video was a very respectful way to honour the guy and truly welcome him back aboard the PlayStation ship, which is where Metal Gear Solid found its biggest audience way back in 1998.

Who knows, but it's so good to see Hideo and his team have found work back under the Kojima Productions branding, which until now Konami had removed from all packaging and promotional materials surrounding Metal Gear Solid V. Leave your suggestions in the comments below, on what Kojima Productions should do next, and for now simply rejoice that Sony have one hell of an exclusive coming at some point in the future!
