Horizon Zero Dawn: 10 Ways To Make The Frozen Wilds Perfect
5. New & More Interesting Tribal Societies
The tribal interactions of Horizon: Zero Dawn's earlier acts were less than enthralling. The hippyish Nora and Aztec-esque Carja rarely seized the imagination the way the game's metal beasts did. They spoke like generic voice actors and didn't display much emotional involvement in the events around them.
With the exception of Aloy, sort-of-ally Sylens and bad guy Helis, few of the characters from the various tribes were very memorable. In addition, the tribes had little to make them really stand out from one another, especially the little-seen Oseram and Banuk.
This is an oversight The Frozen Wilds can correct. The teaser shows a much grimier, more savage tribe with a lot more potential for memorable encounters, especially if the game's facial models are upgraded to be ragged and characterful. The Frozen Wilds looks like a place that breeds pure survivors, so with any luck, Aloy will start hanging out with some more interesting people.
