Injustice 2 Trailer: 10 Things You Totally Missed
5. Supergirl Isn't A Fan Of Her Kryptonian Cousin
Though Superman may not have a large family tree in his adoptive homeland, he does have a fellow Kryptonian relative that's formed a large part of his related media for some time now. Named Kara-El, Supergirl was once a sidekick of her Midwestern cousin, before going on to become a main hero in her own right. In Injustice however, her familial relationships don't look nearly as amiable as they've often been depicted.
Shown briefly in the trailer, Kara is shown blasting her cousin with a well-timed shot from her heat vision, saving a crippled Caped Crusader in the process. This wouldn't seem to indicate any allegiance to Batman's ragtag band of freedom fighters, but it would certainly suggest that she doesn't see eye to eye with the extremist nature of her once cherished idol.
Regardless, I'd imagine that Supergirl will factor heavily into Injustice 2's single-player, bringing us a truly wonderful Kryptonian that embodies the beliefs the original Man of Steel once held so dear.
Thematically, offering audiences a mirror into the Superman this Clark Kent should be would make for some truly compelling story-telling, and with Kara having formerly starred in some of the most enthralling comic book tales on and off-screen, one can only hope that NetherRealm replicate the same success here.
