If you're a strong supporter of the Dexit party who feels the schism of 800+ Pocket Monsters was done purely as an exercise of corporate greed, then click next now. If you put all that to one side however, the return of 105 previously unavailable Pokemon made for a cornucopia of joy and nostalgia the core game could never hope to match.

From golden oldies like Heracross and Jigglypuff to newer delights Talonflame and Lycanroc, there's plenty of Pokemon you'll be happy to see again. Their integration into the overworld is even more of a delight as Game Freak have shown more commitment to intelligent game design; there are Sharpedo scouring the coast that'll surge on you from nowhere, Emolga flying about forest trees, and rare spawns that really feel like a reflection of the weather and their environment and not just compulsory placeholders. Every area feels more like its own little biome as there is little species crossover between areas.

There's also the change in meta game this will signify, as VGC favourites like Politoed and Amoongus make their returns among others. Normally the meta settles in and sets for a generation, but with this surge of fresh blood, the scene should change rapidly and remain even more competitive for dedicated battlers.
