Isle Of Armor: 10 Highlights From Pokemon's First Expansion
3. The Quiet Abundance Of The Land
Unlike the relatively sparse Wild Area, the Isle of Armour is chocked with items to discover, and NPCs to interact with, adding a much needed density to the map.
Without bragging about it too much, the Isle of Armor has a lot happening in it that the O.G. Wild Area just lacked. Yes there were random shiny things on the ground and a few scantily spread TMs to find for completionists but it never felt like more than obligatory window dressing. The Isle of Armor somehow makes it feel more full of substance and significance.
There are still the random shiny things, but there's more variety and less predictability to them. Berry Trees are more abundant, replenish more often, drop more valuable fruits and bring the return of Apricorns (because really, why not?). And there's a good cast of NPCs with useful functions, such as the Digging Pa and Ma, the Clear Lady, and some will trade you regional variants, or offer you rare items and Pokedex entries. They can spawn in seemingly anywhere as well to once again push the living tissue of the island itself.
Watts also have more significance as the island's primary currency. There's numerous vendors at the dojo who'll trade you for them, and Honey will wring you dry for upgrades. But its a step up for a currency which only seems to exist just because.
