Kingdom Hearts 3: 10 Things We Learned At E3

Our biggest and best look at the game yet.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is one of the biggest upcoming games of the generation, being a title that people have waited eagerly for since 2015.

As such, it was an exciting prospect that we'd be seeing more of it at this year's E3. Noone could have possibly predicted just how much of it we'd be seeing however. We didn't get one trailer, we got three, and the news didn't slow down after that.

Considering Kingdom Hearts usually has a pretty slim E3 presence, especially in the past few years, it was a huge surprise to all that Kingdom Hearts made appearances at both Sony and Microsoft's conferences for brand new trailers. That's a big change for a game that's usually been hidden in the shadows.

E3 also marks the first time Kingdom Hearts 3 has been made playable to the general public, which is making it seem like it really is coming soon. Besides that, we also received so many interviews and smaller bits of news outside of the conferences that have given a good idea of what Kingdom Hearts 3 is all about.

10. Pirates Of The Caribbean Returns

In a bit of a shocking moment, Pirates of the Caribbean will be returning as a playable world from Kingdom Hearts 3.

The reveal came at Sony's E3 Press Conference, which was especially surprising as we'd already seen two different trailers for the game in other conferences. Pirates of the Caribbean previously featured in Kingdom Hearts 2, which is why it's especially surprising to see it return in the third entry, as the game is mostly made up of brand new Disney worlds.

We get to see a lot of new footage from this world and it looks like it focuses a lot on ship combat and big explorable environments as Sora is even seen exploring underwater areas.

One of the biggest surprises is just how good the Pirates cast looks in the Kingdom Hearts 3 engine. The graphics are truly being put to the test in this world, which makes it even more exciting to be returning to this world.
