The very notion of Pixar characters turning up in Kingdom Hearts has been a point of conversation among fans since the series kicked off, and none of their films has likely entered that topic more than Toy Story. Across a trilogy of films, a handful of short films, television series, merchandise, and more, as well as a fourth film on the way, the franchise continues to endure as the company's most popular, iconic, and successful.
Aside from Toy Story and Kingdom Hearts sharing similar themes of friendship, a world based on the the adventures of Buzz, Woody, and the rest of the toys could retell any of the stories we already know or craft a whole new, imagination-filled adventure using them in fun ways, taking players on a journey from the Old West, and to infinity and beyond. And even if the series went the most obvious route, who wouldn't want to fight alongside Woody and Buzz as they battle to keep Evil Emperor Zurg and his army of toy Heartless from conquering the universe?
