Artifacts are an integral part in the world of Magic the Gathering. Whether its a freshly forged blade or a thousand-year-old rock pulsating with black mana of death - artifacts come in all shapes and sizes.

The Standard metagame consists of cards from the last two years worth of expansions and is about to get a major shakeup with the newest set, Ikoria, Lair of Behemonths, a world full of dangerous monsters and giants kaiju.

As with any new set, a plethora of new artifacts vastly change the way we build decks and enjoy the game but the cards on today's list truly are the cream of the crop.

The best blades, the best rocks, the best... gingerbread men?

10. Heraldic Banner

Taking inspiration from two of the most iconic Magic cards in history Heraldic Banner is part Glorious Anthem, part mana rock.

The first half grants +1 attack to all your creatures making your army of creatures a force to be reckoned with while the second half allows you to add mana and play spells quicker.

Heraldic Banner has found a home in Obosh, the Preypiercer decks, a deck limited to odd casting cost spells because of the namesake companion. This makes Heraldic Banner a perfect play on turn three after you have deployed a bunch of creatures!
