It feels like a lifetime, but after all the delays, Crystal Dynamics are finally on track to release the long-awaited Marvel's Avengers game.
developers have just hosted the inaugural "War Table" event, a live
stream offering a deep dive into the gameplay, looks and mechanics of
the upcoming title. The half hour presentation was jam packed with
information, including the game’s main villain, what happens after A-Day
as well as a glimpse into what happened to Captain America.
The livestream featured a huge amount of gameplay, which is more than can be said for most studios' presentations these days. Despite some minor quality hiccups on the
stream, viewers were shown an extended section of gameplay from later in
the game. Making note that fans are desperate to see footage outside of
A-Day, they demonstrated a single player mission that saw Thor fighting
alongside the gang on their helicarrier.
was a short section explaining the co-op and War Zone features,
although they were a little short on the details. To top the event off,
Crystal Dynamics showed off the vast customisation available, including
different outfits and abilities (and the dreaded storefront).
