As soon as EA says that they'd be content with another delay for a game, you're either in a parallel dimension OR your game's on the verge of being delayed again. Mass Effect fans certainly got worried when EA CFO Blake Jorgenson stated that "If another delay is necessary to make the game better", they'd be okay with it. Even though the latest ME video stated March 2017 as the release date, it's not exactly an unlikely future announcement.

This could potentially represent EA's commitment to the artistic vision of a game they publish (not the likely option), their recognition that the game isn't ready for release in March, or it could even be just a PR ploy to earn some extra good press for being a caring publisher. Due to the accusations that they forced Bioware to release Mass Effect 3 before Bioware would've liked, EA could earn some favor with fans if they say that they want the game to be as good as it can be, even if they're fully convinced the game will launch. There's also the overall lack of information available for the game to consider, as it could represent that the game's not ready for prime time.

Likelihood of being true: 5/10. It's doubtful EA ACTUALLY wants the game to be delayed again, as the current release month doesn't have much competition, allowing for plenty of money to be made on launch day and beyond. Also, there's the consideration that some potential players may grow concerned over the game's overall quality if another delay comes up (The Division and its plentiful delays is a good example), so Bioware may want to guarantee good favor for that March release date. A delay is always possible, and even could be beneficial, but until the game officially releases, future Ryders will have to patiently wait until their new journey in the Mass Effect universe can begin.
