Confirmed to be a member of the Khett species, described as being a combination of the Collectors and the Vorcha, The Archon is described to being “a master of this game.”

This clearly comes from a later part of the game when the crew have a better idea of what his agenda is, but that begs the question as to what 'game' they are talking about.

Archon certainly has command over a large fleet of ships, all that look much rougher and far less elegant than the ships from the original trilogy, and presumably has gained a reputation among the other races that inhabit the Andromeda galaxy.

What’s also intriguing is that in a later shot, The Archon appears to be wired up to some sort of machinery and is capable of releasing a powerful biotic blast.
