Mass Effect Andromeda New Trailer Breakdown: 14 Things You Need To See

One of the best shots from the trailer, here we see part of the team who will aid you in your fight across the galaxy.

Peebee, the Asari, we have already seen in previous trailers and the still unnamed Krogan on the right. But it’s newcomers Liam Koster (left) and Cora Harper (right) who we are properly introduced to, and it appears that they will be the equivalent of Kaiden and Ashley as you start out, before recruiting the other races to your squad.

Liam is the Human Security and Crisis Response Specialist, and according to the short bio in the Pathfinder Team Briefing, is the optimist of the group. In the trailer, he does come across as a bit of a hot-head who knows how to handle a rifle, but other than that, we still have much to learn.

Cora on the other hand is given a more thorough bio; biotic, second-in-command and more interestingly, the successor to the Pathfinder.

This is intriguing considering that it is not Cora, but the player, that becomes the Pathfinder. Expect some tension in the room going forward, although judging from what comes later, it looks like you’ll be able to make friends.

What’s also interesting is that Cora’s last name, Harper, shares a connection with a certain character from the original series - the Illusive Man; whose real name was Jack Harper. Coincidence? He did have a family before he got involved with Cerberus. I guess we’ll have to wait to find out...
