8. Leave Empty Cardboard Boxes To Fool Enemy Players

An old-school tactic that emerged across the olden days of MGO, the legacy of Metal Gear's cardboard box lives on in - although you'll have to use the fairly-overlooked 'evacuate the box' technique to pull it off. To do so, equip the box as standard, then tap Square/X either by itself to crawl out silently or combined with a D-pad direction to burst out. The latter will leave one of the edges open, so the former is preferable if you want your emerging plan to be bulletproof. A VERY effective tactic is to place a box down after you've evaded an enemy round a corner, and then sit inside another right beside it. 50/50 chance says your opponent will automatically shoot the wrong one (particularly if it's positioned closer) as they round the bend, letting you spring up with L2/LT and blow them away. There's simply nothing more 'Metal Gear' than fooling enemies with cardboard boxes, and doing it in the live arena is just fantastic.
