Metal Gear Solid: 50 Weird Revelations You Weren't Expecting

2. The Ocelot Unit Would Only Respond To Ocelot's Cat Call (MGS3)

MGS3i In 1964, Ocelot was the eponymous commander of the Ocelot Unit. These were elite special-forces troops who worked in the Spetznaz division of GRU. These guys were serious business; they could be summoned by Ocelot at any moment, but they only responded to a specific signal, specifically, an ocelot call. That's right, Ocelot would literally go "Reowww!", and they would jump out from behind some foliage; not the most imposing entrance in the world.

1. Vamp Is A Bisexual, Blood-Drinking Immortal Vampire

MGS4l Vamp is probably the weirdest villain in the Metal Gear universe. He's able to dislocate every joint in his body, allowing for death-defying acrobatics, he's bisexual, apparently has the hots for Raiden, his diet consists primarily of blood, oh, and he's also invincible. Really. Raiden shot him square in the forehead and after a quick nap, Vamp was up and at 'em again. Of course, those pesky nanomachines provide a convenient explanation for Vamp's weirdness, but it doesn't detract from the fact that he's also a total freak. Oh, also, his voice actor is probably better known for voicing Hermes in the TV show Futurama (and playing Marvin, the guy who gets shot in the face by John Travolta, in Pulp Fiction). And that rounds out this list. There are plenty more weird conversations, characters, and circumstances within the Metal Gear Solid series that I didn't list here, so I encourage you to go out and experience these games for yourself! I hope I provided MGS veterans with a nice trip down memory lane and educated less passionate fans on some things they might have missed. Thanks for reading, and let us know about any we missed in the comments below!
