2. Naked Snake Aka Big Boss
The man that started it all. Naked Snake would go down as the greatest soldier in history thanks to Major Tom exploiting his name for influence.
Having studied under the tutelage of The Boss, Naked Snake learned everything from moral ethics, CQC, and paternal love. However, with the defection of The Boss and failure of the Virtuous Mission, he's sent in Operation Snake Eater to retire her and prevent all out nuclear war between the USSR and the United States. The most devastating part: The Boss defected as part of an undercover operation, and her sacrifice will be hollowed by black and white text in a history book. The Boss knew she was a pawn and needed to fulfill her role for the greater good.
His disillusionment with American politics and how the American government sacrificed someone as altruistic as The Boss by slandering her name shattered Naked Snake. This slow-motion fall while grappling with his ideals and trauma and naively believing he was fulfilling The Boss's vision of a united world makes Big Boss's downfall heartbreaking.
His undying admiration and unconditional love for The Boss goes without saying; the surrogate mother that birthed ideology and created him, only to be destroyed by her own 'child' for bureaucracy - Naked Snake could hardly bear the thought.
