Mortal Kombat 11: 10 Action Hero Guest Characters We Want
1. Max Rockatansky
Arguably one of Mel Gibson’s most famous roles, Max
Rockatansky is the main character in the Mad Max franchise. The original 1979
film saw Max take up the role of a Main Force Patrol Officer, who seeks to help
his wife and infant son survive as the world slowly dissolves into chaos around
them. In the sequels to the films, the world has become nothing more than a
Wasteland, and while Max is certainly crazy he is still the hero of the
franchise.
Mel Gibson’s best performance with the character is in the second film, 1981’s Mad Max 2 (The Road Warrior); however Gibson also reprised the role in 1985’s Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. Depending on which film’s portrayal of the character that NetherRealm Studios choose would depend on how far Max had descended into the madness.
Tom Hardy recently played the character in the 2015 film Mad
Max: Fury Road, a critically acclaimed sequel to the original Mad Max trilogy.
Hardy’s performance, while not having the long lasting cultural impact of
Gibson’s, would still be a fine addition to the cast of Mortal Kombat 11. Either
portrayal would fit easily among the other characters, with Mortal Kombat’s ‘Outworld’
paralleling the Wasteland that Max knows all too well.
