Mortal Kombat 11: Every Playable Fighter Confirmed So Far

8. Raiden

One of the first fighters we knew would be included in the sequel, Raiden was shown in the reveal trailer to be indulging in some kind of time loop, bringing in other iconic characters to murder them one on one - before being sliced in half by Scorpion, anyway.

Though only a teaser, that element of time travel will apparently have a large focus in the narrative. Picking up where the last title ended, MK 11 begins with Raiden decapitating Shinnok, adopting a new ruthless approach to being Earth's protector by ripping the spines out of anyone who dare threaten it.

It's a side of the hero we've seen hinted at before and, combined with his manipulation of time in the Mortal Kombat reboot back in 2011, could mean he's in the firing line this time around. That's just pure speculation though, and for now fans can just enjoy looking forward to playing as an even more devastating version of this iconic character.
