Mortal Kombat 11's DLC Fighters Finally Revealed

The Terminator continues to worm its way into every 2019 blockbuster.

After months of speculation, hints and rumours, the full lineup for Mortal Kombat's DLC 'Kombat Pack' has now been revealed. The first two new additions, longtime MK staples Shang Tsung and Nightwolf, are already available, but the rest of the six-character update has been unveiled and dated.

Up first is The Terminator's T-800, a killing machine modelled on the older Arnold Schwarzenegger version set to debut in the upcoming Terminator: Dark Fate. While this classic cinema icon does fit with NetherRealm's prior tactic of plucking similar cinematic symbols like the Alien's Xenomorph or The Texas Chainsaw Massacre's Leatherface and making them playable characters, MK won't be the first big game this year to tie into the latest Terminator movie.

Following that crossover is a return to the core franchise with Sindel, releasing November 26th. Though she's made appearances since, players last got their hands on the sonic sorceress in 2011's Mortal Kombat reboot, so serves as a welcome return.

January 26th is the date of the next content drop, which will see The Joker join the roster. The developers have already created two versions of the character for the Injustice games, so it's going to be interesting how they distinguish this Mortal Kombat-themed take from its sister series. Just judging from the images so far, this version of The Clown Prince of Crime looks younger than most video game incarnations and, surprisingly, way more fashionable.

Rounding out the first Kombat Pack is Spawn - a superhero who's long been sought by MK fans - dropping March 17th 2020.

All in all, it's a pretty diverse cast, with fan-favourites, inspired crossovers and long-awaited returns. Most of them admittedly had been leaked prior to being announced, but it's still cool to have the lineup confirmed, alongside the first glimpse of how they'll actually play.
