Mortal Kombat X: 10 Most Underpowered Characters That Need Upgrading

9. Kano (Commando)

The whole point of Kano's Commando variation is to give fans of the character a playstyle that involves a lot of risk in return for generous rewards. But you've seen the title of this article, so you know exactly what I'm about to say next. There is no reward... not unless you count constantly losing as a good thing. But you don't, because that's not what fighting games are all about. NetherRealm didn't seem to get that memo, though, because Commando's main gimmick - i.e. being able to finish long-string combos with grab attacks - is completely negated by... yeah, blocking. That's right, the meat of Kano's damage comes from his finishing grapples, and simply playing defensive will make Commando players unable to move in for the kill - instead having to make do with whittling opponents down with part-finished combos that also leave him open to being punished. Yes, he also has some grabs that are unblockable, but the window for successfully landing them after a combo is painfully small. There's no reason for Commando to be gimped like this, NetherRealm. Fix it now (please).
