Come the time for Fatalities, NetherRealm had to distinguish her from someone like Reptile, and although this move does have similarities to his standard acid-based face-disintegrations, it's the opponent's character model deforming into a loose-jawed skeleton only for the head to roll off and her to crush it underfoot that just looks badass.
