Too soon?

Just a year before the Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs by the eventual champions - the Nowitzki-Kidd led Dallas Mavericks - but in 2011-12 they seemed to finally figure out how to play together.

Durant was the league's scoring leader for the third straight season, James Harden was just named NBA Sixth Man of the Year, and Westbrook was turning into the dominant player that he is today. Apart from that promising core, the team had Serge Ibaka averaging 3.7 blocks per game and Thabo Sefolosha on top of his defensive game as well.

A young team with loads of potential - that was the 2011-12 Thunder. Last year they were just one win away from reaching the Finals, and the aftermath was widely discussed throughout the summer. Playing the Thunder in NBA 2K12 was fun. The nostalgia hasn't kicked in yet, but this team will undoubtedly appear in future editions of NBA 2K.
