Two centers and two bad deals. While Gortat's deal seems fine under the standards concerning modern NBA big men, he's getting older and slower, so won't be of much help during the final year of his deal.
Mahimi is a reliable big man, but he was never an exceptionaly skilled rebounder or blocker, let alone scorer. Mahimi for Gortat money is a pretty good deal, but for almost twice of what the Polish Hammer is getting? Thanks, but no thanks.
The wise thing to do here is pick one center and get a cheaper reserve for the other.
